TOPS® Pro Version 6.0 Release
It's here! We're delighted to announce that the new version of TOPS® Pro is now ready for shipping. The software represents a huge step forward for all TOPS® Pro customers. The enhancement list is too long for the newsletter but you can now see full details of all the new features by clicking the link below. Here are a few highlights:-
Eco Savings Report (ESR) / Compare solutions - The Eco Savings Report compares the effects different case sizes and load solutions have on the environment, in terms of carbon emission, corrugated and packing material waste/usage
Tab View Solutions for Multiple Pallets and Trucks - Unitload solutions using multiple pallets can now be grouped under tabs, one tab for each pallet type selected. This view will take effect if "Optimized for each Pallet" option is checked. Tab view solutions also work for multiple vehicles or containers.
Modify Pattern for Shipcase/Interpack Stages This interactive function allows users to modify the layout within an intermediate pack and case for certain primary package styles. Users can add or remove items in addition to the ability to rotate, snap and align selected items.
New Window Layout - Tri Layout, Hex Layout If you have multiple stages in your design sequence, you can use these new layouts to view all stages at one time. This feature allows you to display the stages of an analysis in up to six separate windows.
Option to Limit the Number of Cases on Unitload In the Unitload parameters dialog box, users can limit the number of cases on a pallet by restricting the number of layers, number of cases per layer or the total number of cases on the pallet.
Compare Multiple Solutions (up to 5) in a Single Report
At any stage of an analysis (shipcase, pallet load or container), users can compare up to 5 solutions on a single report.
Other areas targeted for enhancement include graphics, data import, CASY shapes, pallet/box styles etc.

Euro-Fit use specialist software to optimise Far East deliveries
We're delighted to announce that Euro-Fit Systems Ltd, suppliers of fixtures and fittings to the UK office furniture, kitchen and shop fitting industries, has selected both MaxLoad Pro and TOPS® Pro to optimise their deliveries from the Far East. Mike Gomme, Sales Director of Euro-Fit summarises "We are able to test the safest loading configurations using the software and have increased our container load fill from 60% to 87%. These savings make a big difference when the cost of sea freight has almost doubled recently. We now have the ideal solution and control the packing process from start to finish. We specify the optimum container and pallet specification from our suppliers at the time of placing the order and issue each supplier with clear instructions on how we want our weekly consignment loaded."
AutoLogic announces launch of next generation Vehicle Scheduling Software from Appian Logistics

Tip Of the Day - New TOPS Easy Import
TOPS 6.0 now offers a simple import function to pass data in a text file (like Excel CSV) into TOPS for calculation. A total of 32 fields can be imported. When ready to import, go to Import > Easy Import and specify the location and filename. Once imported, analysis will appear in the File > Open list.
