Applications
Our simulation software has been used for modelling a broad range of projects within rail and related areas. Examples of applications have included light/heavy rail applications, transit systems and many types of tug & trailer systems within a number of industries. Scope for rail applications has typically included:-
- Modelling of vehicle types, grades and performance levels
- Tractive effort and braking effort by vehicle type and performance levels
- Speed restrictions, allowed speeds, inter-locking and circuit blocks
- Models driven from timetables by service type
- Dwell times by station, time of day and service.
Benefits
Testing and developing train schedules. Analysis of track layouts at key junctions. Train headway and performance comparisons with time-table including on-time performance and delays by service and cause (eg. inter-locking, signal and train ahead). Effect on performance by introduction or removal of services.
