Countrywide appoints AutoLogic Systems to reduce NHS delivery costs

Countrywide Healthcare Supplies, one of the largest suppliers to care homes in the UK, has implemented new specialist vehicle scheduling software from AutoLogic Systems Ltd to automate their NHS delivery process planning and reduce transport costs.

The NHS team at Countrywide Healthcare provides home delivery services to over 10,000 clients covering 7,000 square miles with 50,000 plus deliveries a year.

John Spray of Countrywide Healthcare comments: “Although the quality of our service is excellent, we know there are opportunities to reduce the time spent planning loads as well as our transport costs. The environmental impact is also high with too much paper and fuel being used. We recognised that our present manual system was grossly inefficient and began a search to find the right system that answered all our problems.”

After a comprehensive review of the market, Countrywide turned to specialist software provider for logistics and warehousing, AutoLogic Systems Ltd., who have introduced a new range of vehicle scheduling and tracking software from US developer Appian Logistics.

John concludes: “We are looking forward to benefitting not only from an improvement in efficiencies of labour but also to significant reductions in our dispatch time and mileage.”

AutoLogic Systems is the sole European distributor of the Appian software, which will be exhibited for the first time at the Commercial Vehicle Show 08.
